NUTS AND BOLTS OF WRITING FICTION:
Are you interested in writing novels or short stories? Don’t struggle alone --come find support and inspiration among your fellow writers. Join us for this eight-week fiction-writing workshop, presented free of charge by the Missoula Public Library.
This workshop, taught by a second-year fiction student from the MFA program at UM, is open to writers of all experience levels. During each three hour class, we’ll talk about a published short story as it relates to various aspects of the writer’s craft (point-of-view, characterization, dialogue, etc.). Then we’ll discuss two or three submissions written by members of the class, identifying the specific strengths of each piece and offering a few suggestions for revision.
Our fall 2011 writing workshop was a great success! We will be running this course again in the spring. Preregistration is required. Contact the Reference Desk at 721-2665 or
