Every month, MPL sponsors free public films. Showings of recently released feature films, kids films, classic movies, and international prize winners are held onsite and are free of charge. Call 721-2665 to find out about upcoming showings.

Cheap Date Night

Cheap Date Night, the third Friday of every month, is an after-hours program at Missoula Public Library

The movie starts at 7 PM, with doors off the parking lot (Front Street side of the building) opening at 6:45. We'll provide the popcorn and you can provide your own non-alcoholic beverages. Please be on time, as after 7:15 PM you will not be able to enter the building for security reasons.

Friday, April 19 at 7 PM - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Gellert Grindelwald has escaped imprisonment, and his former friend Dumbledore is the only one capable of stopping him, but he needs help from his former student Newt Scamander.

World Wide Cinema

The WWC film screenings are free and open to the public on the second Friday of every month at MPL in the Large Meeting Room. Lower level doors open at 6:45 PM and the film begins at 7 PM. Please be on time, as after 7:15 PM you will not be able to enter the building for security reasons.

Friday, April 12 at 7 PM - Un Traductor [A Translator]  (From Cuba and Canada, this tender drama is in Spanish and Russian with English subtitles and runs 107 minutes)

Malin, a Russian Literature professor at the University of Havana, is ordered to work as a translator between doctors and child victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster who are sent to Cuba for medical treatment. Based on the true story of the father of the film’s two directors.
