Cheap Date Night

MPL’s monthly movie night is back! Come enjoy a recently released feature film during Cheap Date Night, the 3rd Friday each month in the library’s Cooper Room. Film starts at 6:30. Doors are open from 6:15-6:45 and entry after 6:45 is not allowed. Attendees must enter from the library’s parking garage, all other doors are locked.

The Martian

May 19

May’s film is “The Martian”, staring Matt Damon. This film will be held in partnership with the Western Montana Astronomical Association (WMAA), Missoula’s astronomy club. Club member and Solar System Ambassador Bryan von Lossberg worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in the early 90s. Before the movie he will share some behind-the-scenes stories about JPL’s Mars Pathfinder mission, which figures prominently in the movie. If the weather is clear, WMAA club members will host astronomical viewing through telescopes on the Level Four balcony directly following the film.
