Statement on COVID-19

Our priority is the health and safety of our community

Due to the current rise in COVID-19 infections in our community, and by recommendation of Missoula Health officials, the Missoula Public Library Board of Trustees has made the decision to close the building to public use at this time.

Library staff continue to provide services to our community, and stringent protocols are in place to minimize their risk of infection. Library leadership revisits the prospect of a full reopening at each Trustee meeting, in consultation with local health experts. Trustee meeting information

We are eager to welcome community members into their Library, and our ability to do so is contingent on Missoulians flattening the COVID-19 curve. Please wear masks in public, practice social distancing and good hygiene, and limit contact with those outside your household.

Extended Services & Resources

In an effort to alleviate the pandemic’s impact on community life, the Library now offers curbside lending six days a week downtown and a growing menu of online resources. In this time of uncertainty, we aim to get books and other items into the hands of our library users, and do our part to promote safe community engagement.
