On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look ahead toward the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond.

 

Preserving the Greatest Generation

March 17 | Cooper Room B | Courtney Carr, WWII Veterans Legacy Programs Manager at the National Museum of the Pacific War

Courtney Carr will introduce the Society of Sons and Daughters of WWII Veterans. This genealogy focused membership initiative honors, preserves, and shares the stories of America’s “Greatest Generation.” The program provides descendants an opportunity to connect to other families while also documenting their loved one’s lived experiences for future generations.

 

George Washington’s Crash Course in Race Relations

April 21 | Cooper Room A | Larry Mylnechuk, Liberty Tree Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution

Larry Mylnechuk will explore Washinton’s thinking as he considered the momentous issue of slavery.

 

Lighting a Fuse to Revolution

May 19 | Cooper Room A | Nancy Schmitz, Bitter Root Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution

Nancy Schmitz will present about factors leading up to the Revolutionary War.

 

Daughters of the American Revolution genealogy presentation

June 9 | Blackfoot Room | Nancy Schmitz, Bitter Root Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution

Representatives from the Bitter Root Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will present a genealogy program.

June 23 | Cooper Room A | Larry Mylnechuk, Liberty Tree Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution

Larry Mylnechuk will explore the mind of America’s third president.

 

Strange Tales of the Lewis & Clark Expedition

July 21 | Cooper Room A | Larry Mylnechuk, Liberty Tree Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution

Larry Mylnechuk will share stories of the Fictious Feline, Thunder-Boomer Pills, Mastodon Madness, and more.
