Staff & Volunteer Achievements

Fall is here and with it the return to many of our community’s routines and traditions. Missoula Public Library staff are eager to welcome the county-wide 5th Grade Art/Library Experience, stock the shelves with new fall books, and host a fresh slate of dynamic programs. We also want to take this moment of seasonal transition to celebrate some of your Library’s staffers and their recent achievements.

In August, several MPL employees, volunteers, and departments were recognized for outstanding service, community contributions, and excellent librarianship at the Montana Library Association’s annual convention in Missoula. The awards line-up includes:

Honore Bray, retired MPL Director: “Honorary Lifetime Membership”

Barbara Theroux, chair of the MPL Friends of the Library: “MLA Library Champion”

Selya Avila, MPL Circulation: “Outstanding Support Staff”

MPL’s Makerspace: “Public Library Program of the Year”
