Memory Making Kits

Can’t make it to the next Memory Café? We also have Memory Making Kits available for check out! Memory making kits include activities to spark memories, create conversation and provide positive and engaging interactions between people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and their care partners. Memory Café July

In July we have a special guest, Sina Haj Amor. Sina is in Missoula as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow through the English Language Institute at the University of Montana. Sina lives in Tunis, Tunisia and was born in Mahdia.

 

In this month’s Memory Café we will hear about Sina’s home in Northwest Africa, her work and her time in the program in Missoula.

Every Spirit Shines

You are invited to join non-profit group Turning the Wheel Missoula for gentle movement games, rhythm and word play! Invite a caregiver, family or friends to join you and let your creativity shine! We will learn a song and sing along, share stories, and find joyful connection in sharing appreciations. This is a gentle and feel good community time for you to get in touch with your playful side.

Giving Thanks

November is traditionally a time to reflect and give thanks. Join us via Zoom for reflection on the words of Eleanor Roosevelt and others, and in writing thank you notes to honor those in our lives for whom we are grateful.

Virtual Tour of the U of M Herbarium

The University of Montana Herbarium is an irreplaceable resource for the activity of the botany and plant ecology of Montana. It contains over 130,000 plant specimens and has the largest and best representation of the flora of the Northern Rocky Mountains in the world. The Herbarium is particularly well-known for its outstanding collections from the alpine and montane regions of Montana. This is the same tour Shannon gives to in-person visitors so prepare for a wonderful experience!
