IndigiPalooza MT: Indigenous Arts & Storytelling Festival

IndigiPalooza MT: Indigenous Arts & Storytelling Festival

August 1: 6:30pm An Evening with Joy Harjo (at the MT Theater on the University of Montana Campus)
August 2: 9:30am-6:30pm Missoula Public Library 4th Floor

Join us for the inaugural IndigiPalooza: Indigenous Arts & Storytelling Festival—a vibrant, two-day celebration of Indigenous creativity, culture, and community. Centered around the power of story in all its forms, the festival features an inspiring lineup of Indigenous artists, writers, musicians, and makers sharing their work across multiple mediums—from poetry and literature to visual art, traditional foods, and music.

We are honored to welcome renowned poet and former U.S. Poet Laureate, Joy Harjo, as our keynote speaker. Throughout the weekend, explore the Indigenous Art Market, attend artist talks and readings, hear live music, and experience the rich traditions and evolving expressions of Indigenous storytelling.

Free and open to the public, we aim to ensure accessibility and broad community engagement.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between Anna East of Chickadee Community Services, Selya Avila of the Missoula Public Library, and festival emcee Chris La Tray (Little Shell Chippewa, Montana Poet Laureate).
