During this weekly class, local artist Robert Peltzer will help you practice and develop the skills and techniques necessary to enjoy and succeed at watercolor painting. Classes are held every Friday from noon to 2PM in the Cooper room on the Level Four. Robert teaches twice a month, with different artist filling in on other Fridays. This class is open to adults ages 18 and older. There is no fee or registration, but you must bring your own watercolor paper, paints, brushes, and a palette. Questions? Call Robert at 406-541-8868 or email at wes@missoulapubliclibrary.org.
For Friday Oct 4th, find a disliked and or failed painting, one not really worthy of hanging onto. Wash the surface pigment off under a faucet or by submerging it under water. Let the water loosen the pigment, gently help lift off the colors with a brush or sponge if needed. When dry, sketch and paint a new subject over the top of the ghost image left behind. To add interest, let the ghost image show thru in places. Choose an over-painting that suits your ghost image. Below, are some ideas of possible over-paintings. Please bring your completed class practice paintings along with your homework paintings for our class display.
